We’ll get to know the final details of the Chicago Bears’ 2022 schedule when the NFL releases it tonight at 7 PM central.

We already know who Chicago will be taking on and where. Along with the six divisional games, the Bears will take on the NFC and AFC East. As third-place finishers in the NFC North in 2021, they’ll draw the Houston Texans (AFC South), Atlanta Falcons (NFC South), and San Francisco 49ers (NFC West).

Chicago Bears Opponents In 2022

Home

Bills, Dolphins, Eagles, Lions, Packers, Texans, Vikings, Washington, 49ers

Away

Cowboys, Falcons, Giants, Jets, Lions, Packers, Patriots, Vikings

The Bears lucked out with their third-place grouping. The Texans are rebuilding. Matt Ryan was traded to Indianapolis in the offseason and will begin the season with Marcus Mariota as their starter. And who knows what will happen in San Francisco with Deebo Samuel requesting a trade. If he’s out of the picture, suddenly their offense looks less dangerous on paper.

Even the divisions Chicago goes up against this year don’t appear too challenging. The Buffalo Bills will be by far the most challenging matchup in 2022, but at least they’ll come to the windy city.

New England is and always will be tough with Bill Belichick around, but it’ll be interesting to see the quarterback duel of two second-year starters in Justin Fields and Mac Jones.

Miami is an interesting team. They have a lot of weapons on offense with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but is Tua Tagovailoa the answer under center?

In the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys are the toughest opponent, but can be plagued by inconsistency. Especially if that game falls in primetime.

Depending on how you rate Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia could be another tricky opponent. But New York and Washington are closer to the Bears’ level than the others.

And of course in the division. The Lions are the Lions. Minnesota has a talented team but still employs Kirk Cousins. Green Bay has lost to Chicago three times since 2011.

Notes On Chicago Bears 2022 Schedule

Since Chicago had eight home games last year, they’ll get nine in 2022.

For whatever reason, the Bears had five primetime games last year. Each primetime appearance seemed to be even more embarrassing than the previous one. Hopefully the NFL can give Chicago a break and allow them to fly under the radar for a bit and save some embarrassment for us.

Usually, at least one Bears-Packers game each year is in primetime. The Packers have hosted the primetime game between the two teams ten of the last 11 times. The last time the Bears hosted a primetime matchup before 2019 was in 2010. That included a stretch of eight straight games.

Come on NFL, stop doing us dirty.

Potential Leaks

Schedule leaks around this time of the year are dangerous to follow. It’s easy to get hooked, but remember, don’t believe everything you see. With that being said, there have been a few potential matchups being “confirmed.” Matt Schneidman of The Athletic has been tracking updates on the Packers’ schedule, which includes a week two primetime showdown with……the Bears.

Make it 11 of the last 12 primetime games hosted by Green Bay.
